HR-specialists of one of the largest job search sites in Russia, gorodrabot.ru, shared their observations about the behavior of candidates at the interview and personal impressions.

On average, the interview lasts from 30 to 40 minutes. About 35% of employers make decisions “for” or “against” a candidate already in the first 90 seconds of a personal conversation.

So what does the employer pay attention to in person?

The first thing that the personnel officer or supervisor notes for himself is not education or “smart eyes.” They focus on the following: how a person is dressed, how he behaves in general.

40% of managers notice only the general confidence of the candidate and the formulation of voice. Only 7% of respondents listen to what the applicant says and assess his intellectual abilities.

Use only positively-colored words when communicating with management. You should not respond to the request with phrases like “no problem”, “I will try”, “I hope that it will work out” and stuff like that. By such an answer, you will show yourself as an insecure person and make you doubt you.
Everybody has a failure at work. If you are accused of failing any case – do not make excuses. In no case can not blame others and shift responsibility. Take a pause and without unnecessary emotions ask to explain the essence of the error and what should have been done. Such behavior will show you as a responsible and adequate person.
